Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the Gillespie Miners (Gillespie, IL) and the visiting Metro-East Lutheran Knights (Edwardsville, IL), saw Gillespie's soccer squad triumph over Metro-East Lutheran by a count of 10-1.

The Miners (4-7) will now prepare for their battle against North Mac (Virden, IL). The Panthers enter the South Central battle with a 3-13 record. In their last battle, North Mac notched a victory over Lutheran (Springfield, IL), 5-0, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Knights confront the Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) in a non-league battle, on Monday, April 28. Metro-East Lutheran will attempt to upgrade on its 1-14 season record. The Piasa Birds enter the battle with a 3-12 record after their 3-2 non-league loss to Auburn (Auburn, IL).
