South Carolina High School Softball - Clinton holds off Union County

Clinton Red Devils (Clinton, SC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Union County Yellowjackets (Union, SC), 3-1 in a league challenge.

The Red Devils now own a 3-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Saluda for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 28. Clinton will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 9-4 league loss to Batesburg-Leesville (Batesburg, SC). The Tigers record now stands at 11-6.

With the loss, Union County falls to 6-5 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host James F. Byrnes (Duncan, SC) to battle the Rebels in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 28. The Rebels enter the challenge with a record of 19-4. James F. Byrnes won 25-0 in their recent league challenge against Wade Hampton (Greenville, SC)
