Staples Wreckers (Westport, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Wilton Warriors (Wilton, CT), 12-8 in a league challenge.

The Wreckers now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Darien for a Fairfield County challenge on Friday, April 29. Staples will battle a Blue Wave squad coming off a 3-2 league loss to McMahon (Norwalk, CT). The Blue Wave record now stands at 5-6.

With the loss, Wilton falls to 5-6 on the campaign. The Warriors host Danbury (Danbury, CT) to battle the Hatters in a Fairfield County challenge on Friday, April 29. The Hatters enter the challenge with a record of 11-0. Danbury won 10-1 in their recent league challenge against Warde (Fairfield, CT)
