Bloomfield Bengals (Bloomfield, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Union City Soaring Eagles (Union City, NJ), 6-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Bengals now own a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they host West Orange for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 29. Bloomfield will face a Mountaineers squad coming off a 16-1 non-league win over St. Vincent Academy (Newark, NJ). The Mountaineers record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, Union City falls to 4-7 on the campaign. The Soaring eagles travel to Midland Park (Midland Park, NJ) to face the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 29. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 1-1.
