Valley View Spartans (Germantown, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Monroe Hornets (Monroe, OH), 16-6 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 4-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Madison for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 28. Valley View will battle a Mohawks squad coming off a 9-5 non-league loss to Brookville (Brookville, OH). The Mohawks record now stands at 9-3.

With the loss, Monroe falls to 4-9 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Franklin (Franklin, OH) to battle the Wildcats in a Southwestern Buckeye - Southwestern challenge on Friday, April 28. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 7-4. Franklin lost 14-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Carlisle (Carlisle, OH)
