The Monterey Wildcats softball team scored 16 runs and limited the host Sunbright Tigers to 2 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Monterey moves its record to 12-6 on the year. The Wildcats travel to York Institute (Jamestown, TN) to clash with the Dragons in a 2A District 5 game on Monday, May 1. The Dragons come into the game with a record of 7-6. York Institute won 10-0 in their recent non-league game against Pickett County (Byrdstown, TN)

In their next game, the Tigers clash with the Oakdale Eagles (Oakdale, TN) in a non-league game, on Monday, May 1. Sunbright will attempt to move on its 1-8 season record. The Eagles come into the game with a 5-15 record after their 7-6 non-league loss to Clarkrange (Clarkrange, TN).
