Oneida Indians (Oneida, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Rome Free Academy Black Knights (Rome, NY), 11-6 in a league challenge.

The Indians now own a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they host New Hartford for a Section 3 Tri-Valley challenge on Friday, April 28. Oneida will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 14-0 league win over Holland Patent (Holland Patent, NY). The Spartans record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, Rome Free Academy falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Black knights host Baldwinsville (Baldwinsville, NY) to battle the Bees in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 28. The Bees enter the challenge with a record of 6-2. Baldwinsville won 5-2 in their recent league challenge against Liverpool (Liverpool, NY)
