In Thursday's non-league contest, the Triad Knights (Troy, IL) softball team overwhelmed the host Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL), by a margin of 16-3.

With the triumph, Triad moves its record to 8-8 on the year. The Knights host Highland (Highland, IL) to play the Bulldogs in a Mississippi Valley contest on Monday, May 1. The Bulldogs come into the contest with a record of 14-5. Highland won 7-4 in their recent non-league contest against Normal Community (Normal, IL)

In their next game, the Piasa Birds play the Carlinville Cavaliers (Carlinville, IL) in a South Central contest, on Friday, April 28. Southwestern will attempt to move on its 12-9 season record. The Cavaliers come into the contest with a 16-4 record after their 6-0 non-league win over Gillespie (Gillespie, IL).
