Cardinal Huskies (Middlefield, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Valley Forge Patriots (Parma Heights, OH), 12-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Huskies now own a 8-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mayfield for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 27. Cardinal will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 12-1 league loss to Riverside (Painesville, OH). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-18.

With the loss, Valley Forge falls to 5-12 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Elyria Catholic (Elyria, OH) to battle the Panthers in a Great Lakes challenge on Monday, April 29. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 10-5. Elyria Catholic lost 16-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Perry (Massillon, OH)
