Eau Claire North Huskies (Eau Claire, WI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Lakeland Thunderbirds (Minocqua, WI), 18-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Huskies now own a 6-9 record. They take the field next when they host Menomonie for a Big Rivers challenge on Tuesday, April 30. Eau Claire North will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 4-2 league win over River Falls (River Falls, WI). The Mustangs record now stands at 10-4.

With the loss, Lakeland falls to 7-7 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds host Tomahawk (Tomahawk, WI) to battle the Hatchets in a Great Northern challenge on Monday, April 29. The Hatchets enter the challenge with a record of 5-7. Tomahawk lost 9-0 in their recent league challenge against Mosinee (Mosinee, WI)
