Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Mt. Carmel Golden Aces (Mt. Carmel, IL) and the visiting South Knox Spartans (Vincennes, IN), witnessed Mt. Carmel's softball squad tip South Knox by a count of 8-5.

The Golden Aces now sport a 9-7 record. They play next when they travel to Robinson for a Little Illini match on Monday, April 29. Mt. Carmel will face a Maroons squad coming off a 8-6 non-league loss to Effingham (Effingham, IL). The Maroons record now stands at 10-11.

With the loss, South Knox moves to 5-6 on the season. The Spartans travel to Lawrenceville (Lawrenceville, IL) to face the Indians in a non-league match on Tuesday, April 30. The Indians go into the match with a record of 9-14. Lawrenceville won 5-0 in their recent non-league match against Dieterich (Dieterich, IL)
