Northeastern Knights (Fountain City, IN) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host New Castle Trojans (New Castle, IN), 8-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Knights now sport a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cowan for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 29. Northeastern will face a Blackhawks squad coming off a 12-8 non-league loss to Centerville (Centerville, IN). The Blackhawks record now stands at 0-13.

With the loss, New Castle falls to 2-12 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Greenfield-Central (Greenfield, IN) to face the Cougars in a Hoosier Heritage challenge on Monday, April 29. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 8-5. Greenfield-Central lost 14-13 in their recent league challenge against Mt. Vernon (Fortville, IN)
