Wirt County Tigers (Elizabeth, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY), 20-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 2-22 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cross Lanes Christian for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 27. Wirt County will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Tolsia (Fort Gay, WV). The Warriors record now stands at 7-7.

With the loss, West Carter falls to 5-11 on the campaign. The Comets host Morgan County (West Liberty, KY) to battle the Cougars in a District 62 challenge on Monday, April 29. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 2-11. Morgan County lost 13-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Fairview (Ashland, KY)
