Jay County Patriots (Portland, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Adams Central Flying Jets (Monroe, IN), 2-1 in a league challenge.
The Patriots now own a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they host South Adams for a Allen County challenge on Tuesday, May 3.
With the loss, Adams Central falls to 8-3 on the campaign. The Flying jets host Churubusco (Churubusco, IN) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 4. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 4-5.
