Jasper Wildcats (Jasper, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Apollo Eagles (Owensboro, KY), 8-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they host Evansville Memorial for a Southern Indiana challenge on Saturday, April 30. Jasper will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 18-0 non-league loss to Gibson Southern (Fort Branch, IN). The Tigers record now stands at 5-7.

With the loss, Apollo falls to 6-9 on the campaign. The Eagles host Ohio County (Hartford, KY) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 29. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 3-9. Ohio County won 16-0 in their recent league challenge against McLean County (Calhoun, KY)
