Oakwood Comets (Fithian, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Chrisman Cardinals (Chrisman, IL), 14-1 in a league challenge.

The Comets now sport a 5-15 record. They take the field next when they travel to Armstrong for a Vermilion Valley challenge on Monday, May 2. Oakwood will face a Trojans squad coming off a 12-3 league win over Iroquois West (Gilman, IL). The Trojans record now stands at 8-11.

With the loss, Chrisman falls to 0-11 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Watseka (Watseka, IL) to face the Warriors in a Vermilion Valley challenge on Monday, May 2. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 9-6. Watseka lost 7-0 in their recent league challenge against Georgetown-Ridge Farm (Georgetown, IL)
