Indiana High School Softball - Franklin Central holds off Southport

Franklin Central Flashes (Indianapolis, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Southport Cardinals (Indianapolis, IN), 13-11 in a non-league challenge.

The Flashes now own a 6-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ben Davis for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 2. Franklin Central will battle a Giants squad coming off a 14-9 non-league loss to Harrison (West Lafayette, IN). The Giants record now stands at 5-7.

With the loss, Southport falls to 3-9 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Greenwood (Greenwood, IN) to battle the Woodmen in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 29. The Woodmen enter the challenge with a record of 4-8. Greenwood lost 10-3 in their recent league challenge against Whiteland (Whiteland, IN)
