Spectators at Thursday's non-league match between the Morgan Township Cherokees (Valparaiso, IN) and the host Whiting Oilers (Whiting, IN), witnessed Morgan Township's softball squad prevail over Whiting by a count of 20-0.

The Cherokees now sport a 6-3 record. They play next when they travel to Hebron for a Porter County match on Friday, April 29. Morgan Township will meet a Hawks squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over North White (Monon, IN). The Hawks record now stands at 11-1.

With the loss, Whiting moves to 2-10 on the season. The Oilers host Wheeler (Valparaiso, IN) to meet the Bearcats in a Greater South Shore match on Monday, May 2. The Bearcats go into the match with a record of 9-4. Wheeler lost 5-0 in their recent non-league match against Valparaiso (Valparaiso, IN)
