The North Reading Hornets crushed the visiting Manchester Essex Hornets baseball team by a tally of 10-2 in Friday's non-league bout.
The Hornets now hold a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lynnfield for a CAL Kinney bout on Tuesday, May 2.
Next, the Hornets face the Georgetown Royals (Georgetown, MA) in a CAL Baker bout, on Tuesday, May 2. Manchester Essex will attempt to advance on its 2-5 season record. The Royals enter the bout with a 6-1 record after their 3-0 league win over Hamilton-Wenham Regional (South Hamilton, MA).
