Austintown-Fitch Falcons (Youngstown, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Champion Golden Flashes (Warren, OH), 6-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Falcons now own a 15-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Canfield for a All-American challenge on Monday, May 1. Austintown-Fitch will battle a Cardinals squad coming off a 7-3 non-league win over Steele (Amherst, OH). The Cardinals record now stands at 15-1.

With the loss, Champion falls to 15-2 on the campaign. The Golden flashes travel to Whitmer (Toledo, OH) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 29. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 8-9. Whitmer lost 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Whiteford (Ottawa Lake, MI)
