Biddeford Tigers (Biddeford, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Thornton Academy Trojans (Saco, ME), 7-2 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Portland for a Class A South challenge on Monday, May 1. Biddeford will battle a Red Riots squad coming off a 16-0 league win over Deering (Portland, ME). The Red Riots record now stands at 5-0.

With the loss, Thornton Academy falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Trojans host Scarborough (Scarborough, ME) to battle the Red Storm in a Class A South challenge on Monday, May 1. The Red Storm enter the challenge with a record of 3-0. Scarborough won 6-4 in their recent league challenge against Windham (Windham, ME)
