Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts (Chillicothe, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Canton Little Giants (Canton, IL), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Grey Ghosts now own a 11-5 record. They take the field next when they host Rantoul for a Illini Prairie challenge on Saturday, April 29. Illinois Valley Central will face a Eagles squad coming off a 6-3 non-league win over Danville (Danville, IL). The Eagles record now stands at 7-8.

With the loss, Canton falls to 7-10 on the campaign. The Little giants travel to Washington (Washington, IL) to face the Panthers in a Mid-Illini challenge on Wednesday, May 3. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 12-5.
