In Friday's non-league contest, the Newman Fighting Cardinals (Wausau, WI) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Chequamegon Screaming Eagles (Park Falls, WI), by a margin of 10-1.
With the triumph, Newman moves its record to 3-3 on the year. The Fighting Cardinals host Edgar (Edgar, WI) to play the Wildcats in a non-league contest on Tuesday, May 2. The Wildcats come into the contest with a record of 4-5.
In their next game, the Screaming Eagles play the Prentice Buccaneers (Prentice, WI) in a Marawood contest, on Tuesday, May 2. Chequamegon will attempt to move on its 0-3 season record.
