Freeman Scotties (Rockford, WA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Newport Grizzlies (Newport, WA), 9-0 in a league challenge.

The Scotties now own a 7-5 record. They take the field next when they host Lakeside for a 1A Northeast challenge on Monday, May 1. Freeman will face a Eagles squad coming off a 7-2 league loss to Deer Park (Deer Park, WA). The Eagles record now stands at 2-13.

With the loss, Newport falls to 6-8 on the campaign. The Grizzlies host Colville (Colville, WA) to face the Crimson Hawks in a 1A Northeast challenge on Friday, May 5. The Crimson Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 8-7.
