South Jefferson Spartans (Adams, NY) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Fulton Red Raiders (Fulton, NY), 5-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now sport a 8-0 record. They take the field next when they host General Brown for a Section 3 Frontier A challenge on Monday, May 1. South Jefferson will face a Lions squad coming off a 10-4 league win over Watertown (Watertown, NY). The Lions record now stands at 6-2.

With the loss, Fulton falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Red raiders host Cortland (Cortland, NY) to face the Purple Tigers in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 1. The Purple Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 4-4. Cortland lost 15-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Solvay (Solvay, NY)
