The crowd at Friday's league match between the Mt. Baker Mountaineers (Deming, WA) and the host Nooksack Valley Pioneers (Everson, WA), saw Mt. Baker's softball squad achieve victory over Nooksack Valley by a count of 31-8.

The Mountaineers now sport a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they host Blaine for a 1A/2A/3A Northwest match on Tuesday, May 2. Mt. Baker will face a Borderites squad coming off a 4-2 league loss to Burlington-Edison (Burlington, WA). The Borderites record now stands at 8-1.

With the loss, Nooksack Valley falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Meridian (Bellingham, WA) to face the Trojans in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest match on Tuesday, May 2. The Trojans enter the match with a record of 9-5. Meridian lost 11-1 in their recent league match against Sedro-Woolley (Sedro-Woolley, WA)
