The Northern Highlands Highlanders overwhelmed the host Bergenfield Bears softball squad by a count of 7-1 in Monday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Highlanders meet the Paramus Spartans (Paramus, NJ) in a Big North - Freedom challenge, on Wednesday, April 30. Northern Highlands will attempt to upgrade on its 10-4 season record. The Spartans go into the challenge with a 4-9 record after their 5-2 non-league loss to Ridgefield Park (Ridgefield Park, NJ).

The Bears (7-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Leonia (Leonia, NJ). The Lions go into the non-league challenge with a 6-5 record. In their last challenge, Leonia held off Mary Help of Christians Academy (North Haledon, NJ), 15-0, in a league challenge.
