Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL) backers left the game pleased Monday as they saw their softball squad nudge the host Mater Dei Knights (Breese, IL), 3-0 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Centralia upgrades its record to 14-1 on the year. The Orphans travel to Marion (Marion, IL) to play the Wildcats in a South Seven game on Thursday, May 1. The Wildcats enter the game with a record of 14-5. Marion won 3-1 in their recent league game against Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL)

The Knights now own a 6-6 record. They play next when they travel to Flora for a non-league game on Saturday, May 3.
