The East Newton Patriots softball team scored 12 runs and held the visiting Southwest Trojans to 0 in the Patriots league win on Monday.

The Patriots now possess a 10-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lamar for a Class 2 District 6 battle on Tuesday, April 29. East Newton will confront a Tigers team coming off a 5-2 non-league win over Versailles (Versailles, MO). The Tigers record now stands at 13-7.

With the loss, Southwest moves to 7-9 on the season. The Trojans host Purdy (Purdy, MO) to confront the Eagles in a non-league battle on Tuesday, April 29. The Eagles come into the battle with a record of 11-7.
