The Newton Local Indians triumphed over the visiting St. Henry Redskins softball squad by a count of 10-5 in Monday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Indians meet the Tri-County North Panthers (Lewisburg, OH) in a Western Ohio Athletic challenge, on Tuesday, April 29. Newton Local will attempt to upgrade on its 8-3 season record. The Panthers enter the challenge with a 11-6 record after their 4-0 league win over Mississinawa Valley (Union City, OH).
The Redskins (5-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Marion Local (Maria Stein, OH). The Flyers enter the Midwest Athletic challenge with a 7-8 record. In their last challenge, Marion Local edged Ansonia (Ansonia, OH), 10-5, in a non-league challenge.
