The Mater Dei Knights baseball team scored 8 runs and limited the host Valmeyer Pirates to 2 in the Knights non-league victory on Friday.
The Knights (8-13) will now prepare for their match against Gibault Catholic (Waterloo, IL). The Hawks go into the non-league match with a 11-13 record. In their last match, Gibault Catholic was overwhelmed by Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL), 4-3, in a non-league match.
The Pirates (3-14) will now prepare for their match against Dupo (Dupo, IL). The Tigers go into the Cahokia - Kaskaskia match with a 1-8 record. In their last match, Dupo was overwhelmed by New Athens (New Athens, IL), 6-5, in a league match.
