Monta Vista Matadors (Cupertino, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Summit Denali Grizzlies (Sunnyvale, CA), 3-2 in a non-league test.

With the win, Monta Vista upgrades its record to 5-17 on the season. The Matadors host Gunn (Palo Alto, CA) to battle the Titans in a El Camino test on Tuesday, May 3. The Titans come into the test with a record of 11-10. Gunn won 9-8 in their recent non-league test against Sequoia (Redwood City, CA)

With the defeat, Summit Denali falls to 2-12 on the season.
