The crowd at Friday's league match between the Peru Nighthawks (Peru, NY) and the visiting AuSable Valley Patriots (Clintonville, NY), saw Peru's softball squad achieve victory over AuSable Valley by a count of 16-1.

The Nighthawks now sport a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Northern Adirondack for a Section 7 Champlain Valley I match on Saturday, April 30. Peru will face a Bobcats squad coming off a 1-0 league win over Northeastern Clinton (Champlain, NY). The Bobcats record now stands at 5-0.

With the loss, AuSable Valley falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Plattsburgh (Plattsburgh, NY) to face the Hornets in a Section 7 Champlain Valley I match on Monday, May 2. The Hornets enter the match with a record of 1-3. Plattsburgh lost 17-1 in their recent league match against Northern Adirondack (Ellenburg Depot, NY)
