Breese Central Cougars (Breese, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mascoutah Indians (Mascoutah, IL), 9-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 15-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Nashville for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 2. Breese Central will battle a Hornets squad coming off a 16-6 non-league win over Benton (Benton, IL). The Hornets record now stands at 11-12.

With the loss, Mascoutah falls to 5-12 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Jersey (Jerseyville, IL) to battle the Panthers in a Mississippi Valley challenge on Monday, May 2. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 13-8.
