The crowd at Friday's non-league match between the Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts (Chillicothe, IL) and the visiting Canton Little Giants (Canton, IL), saw Illinois Valley Central's softball squad nip Canton by a count of 2-0.

The Grey Ghosts now sport a 12-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rantoul for a Illini Prairie match on Saturday, April 30. Illinois Valley Central will face a Eagles squad coming off a 17-0 league loss to Olympia (Stanford, IL). The Eagles record now stands at 5-12.

With the loss, Canton falls to 5-14 on the campaign. The Little giants travel to East Peoria (East Peoria, IL) to face the Raiders in a Mid-Illini match on Tuesday, May 3. The Raiders enter the match with a record of 20-5. East Peoria won 12-8 in their recent non-league match against Normal West (Normal, IL)
