Cyprus Pirates (Magna, UT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Layton Lancers (Layton, UT), 13-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 16-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hillcrest for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 2. Cyprus will battle a Huskies squad coming off a 15-0 league loss to Stansbury (Stansbury Park, UT). The Huskies record now stands at 8-13.

With the loss, Layton falls to 8-7 on the campaign. The Lancers host Green Canyon (North Logan, UT) to battle the Wolves in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 30. The Wolves enter the challenge with a record of 11-9. Green Canyon lost 8-0 in their recent league challenge against Bear River (Garland, UT)
