In Friday's non-league contest, the Fitchburg Red Raiders (Fitchburg, MA) softball team the visiting Gardner Wildcats (Gardner, MA), by a margin of 31-28.

With the triumph, Fitchburg moves its record to 1-8 on the year. The Red Raiders host Nashoba Regional (Bolton, MA) to play the Chieftains in a Midland-Wachusett B contest on Friday, April 29. The Chieftains come into the contest with a record of 5-3.
