Ridley Raiders (Folsom, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Interboro Buccaneers (Prospect Park, PA), 5-2 in a non-league challenge.
The Raiders now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Springfield for a Central challenge on Monday, May 2. Ridley will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 10-8 non-league loss to Archbishop Carroll (Radnor, PA). The Cougars record now stands at 1-3.
With the loss, Interboro falls to 8-3 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to Penn Wood (Lansdowne, PA) to battle the Patriots in a Delaware Valley challenge on Tuesday, May 3. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 3-3.
Game Summary
The Bucs lost a hard fought game today to rival Ridley 5-2.Sarah Smith battled thru a back injury on the mound to tough out the loss .She went 6 ings ,allowed 6 hits and struck out 6.Vanessa Harrity bombed a triple to knock in the Bucs first run.Jill Gray knocked in the other.
