The Lexington Minutemen (Lexington, IL) softball routed the visiting Peoria Christian Chargers (Peoria, IL), 13-1 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Minutemen (13-5) will now prepare for their bout against Eureka (Eureka, IL). The Hornets go into the Heart of Illinois bout with a 4-8 record. In their last challenge, Eureka was routed by LeRoy (LeRoy, IL), 4-1, in a league challenge.

With the loss, Peoria Christian falls to 8-5 on the campaign. The Chargers travel to Brimfield (Brimfield, IL) to battle the Indians in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 2. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 12-4. Brimfield won 12-6 in their recent league challenge against Illini Bluffs (Glasford, IL)
