The Stone Tomcats softball team scored 4 runs and limited the visiting Newton County Cougars to 2 in the Tomcats non-league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Stone moves its record to 11-10 on the year.

In their next game, the Cougars play the Sumrall Bobcats (Sumrall, MS) in a non-league game, on Friday, May 6. Newton County will attempt to move on its 2-5 season record. The Bobcats come into the game with a 23-7 record after their 9-8 non-league win over Greene County (Leakesville, MS).
