The Belleville East Lancers softball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting Mt. Vernon Rams to 1 in the Lancers non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Belleville East moves its record to 19-7 on the year. The Lancers travel to Granite City (Granite City, IL) to clash with the Warriors in a Southwestern game on Tuesday, May 2. The Warriors come into the game with a record of 4-16. Granite City lost 10-5 in their recent non-league game against Roxana (Roxana, IL)

In their next game, the Rams clash with the Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL) in a South Seven game, on Tuesday, May 2. Mt. Vernon will attempt to move on its 8-10 season record. The Orphans come into the game with a 7-11 record after their 10-7 non-league win over Carlyle (Carlyle, IL).
