The Vernon Hills Cougars routed the visiting Belvidere North Blue Thunder softball squad by a count of 11-0 in Saturday's non-league battle.

The Cougars (7-16) will now prepare for their battle against Maine East (Park Ridge, IL). The Blue Demons go into the Central Suburban - North battle with a 6-10 record. In their last battle, Maine East topped Northside (Chicago, IL), 9-5, in a non-league battle.

The Blue Thunder now sport a 6-9 record. They play next when they host Hononegah for a Northern Illinois NIC-9 battle on Monday, May 1. Belvidere North will meet a Indians squad coming off a 10-2 league win over Guilford (Rockford, IL). The Indians record now stands at 14-4.
