Shawnee Braves (Springfield, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Butler Aviators (Vandalia, OH), 12-10 in a non-league challenge.

The Braves now own a 5-7 record. They take the field next when they host Kenton Ridge for a Central Buckeye - Kenton Trail challenge on Monday, May 1. Shawnee will face a Cougars squad coming off a 4-3 non-league win over Miami East (Casstown, OH). The Cougars record now stands at 16-5.

With the loss, Butler falls to 7-9 on the campaign. The Aviators travel to Xenia (Xenia, OH) to face the Buccaneers in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 1. The Buccaneers enter the challenge with a record of 3-10. Xenia lost 11-1 in their recent non-league game against Butler (Vandalia, OH)
