Lakewood Cougars (Arlington, WA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Oak Harbor Wildcats (Oak Harbor, WA), 8-7 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they host Bellingham for a 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge on Tuesday, May 2. Lakewood will face a Bayhawks squad coming off a 18-1 league loss to Squalicum (Bellingham, WA). The Bayhawks record now stands at 0-9.

With the loss, Oak Harbor falls to 8-8 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Lynden Christian (Lynden, WA) to face the Lyncs in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge on Tuesday, May 2. The Lyncs enter the challenge with a record of 7-5. Lynden Christian won 25-12 in their recent league challenge against Sehome (Bellingham, WA)
