In Saturday's non-league contest, the Lexington Minutemen (Lexington, IL) softball team held off the visiting Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones (Springfield, IL), by a margin of 6-5.

With the triumph, Lexington moves its record to 9-11 on the year. The Minutemen travel to Eureka (Eureka, IL) to play the Hornets in a Heart of Illinois contest on Monday, May 1. The Hornets come into the contest with a record of 3-16. Eureka lost 14-4 in their recent league game against LeRoy (LeRoy, IL)

In their next game, the Cyclones clash with the Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL) in a Central State Eight game, on Tuesday, May 2. Sacred Heart-Griffin will attempt to move on its 6-16 season record. The Pioneers come into the game with a 19-5 record after their 10-3 non-league loss to Olympia (Stanford, IL).
