The crowd at Monday's non-league match between the Dayton Greendevils (Dayton, KY) and the host Walton-Verona Bearcats (Walton, KY), saw Dayton's softball squad nip Walton-Verona by a count of 8-7.

The Greendevils now sport a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Newport Central Catholic for a District 36 match on Tuesday, April 30. Dayton will face a Thoroughbreds squad coming off a 18-0 league loss to Highlands (Fort Thomas, KY). The Thoroughbreds record now stands at 2-5.

With the loss, Walton-Verona falls to 11-8 on the campaign. The Bearcats host Williamstown (Williamstown, KY) to face the Demons in a District 32 match on Monday, April 29. The Demons enter the match with a record of 3-9. Williamstown lost 6-3 in their recent league match against Grant County (Dry Ridge, KY)
