Galena Pirates (Galena, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Potosi/Cassville (Potosi, WI), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 10-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Dubuque for a NUIC West challenge on Tuesday, April 30. Galena will face a Warriors squad coming off a 6-4 league win over Fulton (Fulton, IL). The Warriors record now stands at 8-2.

With the loss, Potosi/Cassville falls to 5-6 on the campaign. The travel to Highland (Highland, WI) to face the Cardinals in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 30. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 5-3. Highland won 8-2 in their recent league challenge against River Ridge (Patch Grove, WI)
