Hanover Hawks (Mechanicsville, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting New Kent Trojans (New Kent, VA), 4-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 10-0 record. They take the field next when they host J.R. Tucker for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 1. Hanover will face a Tigers squad coming off a 10-6 league loss to Maggie Walker (Richmond, VA). The Tigers record now stands at 1-9.

With the loss, New Kent falls to 11-2 on the campaign. The Trojans host Grafton (Yorktown, VA) to face the Clippers in a Bay Rivers challenge on Wednesday, May 1. The Clippers enter the challenge with a record of 9-5. Grafton won 14-0 in their recent league challenge against Lafayette (Williamsburg, VA)
