Wooster Generals (Wooster, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Smithville Smithies (Smithville, OH), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Generals now own a 5-14 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dover for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 30. Wooster will face a Crimson Tornadoes squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Waynedale (Apple Creek, OH). The Crimson Tornadoes record now stands at 19-3.

With the loss, Smithville falls to 2-9 on the campaign. The Smithies host Dalton (Dalton, OH) to face the Bulldogs in a Wayne County challenge on Tuesday, April 30. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 11-6. Dalton won 4-2 in their recent league challenge against Northwestern (West Salem, OH)
