In Tuesday's non-league game, the host Monticello Sages baseball team scored a close 5-4 victory over the Mt. Zion Braves.
The Sages (19-3) will now prepare for their game against Bloomington Central Catholic (Bloomington, IL). The Saints enter the Illini Prairie game with a 3-18 record. In their last game, Bloomington Central Catholic was tipped by Tremont (Tremont, IL), 8-1, in a non-league game.
Next, the Braves face the Pleasant Plains Cardinals (Pleasant Plains, IL) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, April 30. Mt. Zion will attempt to improve on its 13-5 season record. The Cardinals enter the game with a 19-4 record after their 3-0 league win over New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly (New Berlin, IL).
